| Grindley, Ian |
Defender |
|
25 year old left back who has played over 150 games for the First team. Has a very strong left foot and is the clubs Penalty Expert scoring 21 of his last 22 efforts. Will benefit from the extra competition in the side this season. |
| Lloyd, Ben |
Midfield/Forward |
|
Pacy forward who plays with his heart on his sleeve. Will give 100% in every game and with a little more composure should add more goals to his game. |
| Roberts, Glyn |
Defender/Midfield |
|
Veteran performer who is as fit as any in the league. Able to perform at full back or across midfield . Is enjoying a new lease of life this pre season and will be a valuable member of the squad. |
| Currie, Daniel |
Midfield |
|
Rejoined in the close season after a stint at Cefn Utd. Tricky winger with bags of potential and good turn of pace. |
| Booth, Derek |
Forward |
|
38 year old striker who is enjoying the twighlight of his career . A clever player with a natural eye for goal and the ability to bring others into play . Spent time at Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic as a youth and also appeared in the north West Counties league for several seasons. |
| Really, Ben |
Defender |
|
Young centre half who was last seasons player of the season. Is in his 3rd season with the first team and maturing with every game. Strong in the air and has the pace to carry the ball forward. |
| Barlow,
Craig |
Full
Back |
|
Port
Vale's 2nd most famous fan, Craig is now in his second season
with the club. On the fringes of the starting eleven at the
moment but is definitely one for the future. Has improved
tremendously over the last 12 months. |
| Edwards,
Rob |
Goalkeeper |
|
Rob's
first full season and has started off superbly only conceding
one in the first three games. His handling and shot stopping
had been sound and his kicking from hand and the floor is excellent.
Hard to believe he is only 17 until you listen to him, then
its hard to believe he's not 12. Will only get better with experience
and has currently been called upto the 1st team to cover for
the absence of their keeper. He won't let anyone down. |
| Fell,
Mike |
Midfield |
|
Another
player who has come from the Arosfa/Llangollen youth production
line, also in his second season, Mike is a fine passer of the
ball although needs to get more aggression into his game. |
| Lloyd,
David |
Centre
Half |
|
Seems
to have been a fixture in the side for years, so has plenty
of experience for his age. Reads the game very well and starting
to organise the defence and take command at the back. A player
who could play at a higher level if he can reduce silly errors.
His new fitness regime is paying off this season, thanks to
his new experienced personal trainer. Unfortunately for him,
referee's tend to ask for his name and number more often than
the local ladies. |
| Maybury,
Wayne |
Left
Midfield / Forward |
|
Big
Wayne has had a great start to this season until he was knobbed
against Mold, damaging his knee ligaments. Top scorer after
5 games with 3 goals, Wayne has been a constant threat this
season and has proved a handful for opposition defenders always
biting their ankles. Renowned for his generosity and charity
work. |
| Owen,
Sion |
Goalkeeper |
|
Older
brother of Rhys, Sion is now in his second season at the club.
he can feel hard done by to have lost his place in the side,
although Rob Edward's promotion to the 1st team will give him
a chance to show what he is capable of. Needs to improve distribution
which he is working on, although it has been said Douglas Bader
can kick it further. |
| Realley,
Ben |
Right
Midfield |
|
Ben
can play anywhere down the right hand side, although last season
he was also effective on the few occasions he played in the
middle of the park. When fired up, Ben is an asset to the squad
but sometimes seems to let the game drift by him. Possibly depends
on where he's ended up the previous night. |
| Thomas,
Johnny |
Full
Back / Midfield |
|
Johnny
is a bit part player of the squad but one who can always be
relied upon. Covers several positions in defence and midfield,
although his preferred position is up front where he claims
that if chances are created for him, he will bury them. |
| Erratt,
Tom |
Midfield
|
|
Strong
committed midfielder who has been a regular
for the last couple of seasons, very often travelling back
from his Army Base to attend games.
Current team captain and a very consistent player.
|
| Davies,
James |
Midfield |
|
A
key member of the engine room and another of our players
currently serving in the armed forces.
A strong ball playing midfielder he has the ability to carve
open any defence with his passing ability.
|
| Samuels,
Tony |
Midfield |
|
Left
footed player and another former Cefn Utd player.
Has a great range of passing skills and is strong in the air. |
| Davies,
Jason |
Defender |
|
Veteran
defender who is key figure in our back four. Has unfortunately
missed much of the season through work commitments.
Brings height and experience to the defence and his knowledge
of the game is immense. A real threat from set pieces. |
| Jones,
John |
Defender |
|
Another
of our young centre backs from the Youth System.
Has been troubled by a hand injury at the start of the season
but is now continuing to make progress and is a tough tackler
and full of running.

| Williams,
Simon |
Midfielder |
